WeFollow: User Powered Twitter Directory

by WebSuccessDiva · View Comments

Yet another tool has been released for those of you (…us) who are Twitter fanatics. WeFollow, created by Digg’s Kevin Rose is the latest and greatest addition to the Twitterverse. So, is it actually useful? I believe so, let’s take a look…

User Powered Twitter Directory

At the time of this post, about 100 Twitter users A MINUTE are adding themselves to the directory. Will it ever be complete, no. How close it gets to being the most complete directory will depend on users. Only time will tell. You’ll definitely connect with Twitterites who are likely most active on Twitter. For now that’s good enough.

WeFollow’s Usefulness

Yep. It’s actually useful. The home page currently has a list of users by tag and popularity (followers). Whether that’s based on the most active tags or simply set, it’s still a useful way to connect with a tag’s most popular users.

And, as popular with most Twitter tools, you can see the top 100 Tweeters…

What Really Matters

It’s a great tool to explore Tweeters in certain topical areas (tags) and it’s a great way to get targeted followers by listing yourself. But, as with all Twitter tools, use it when appropriate and move on. Another tool another day in the Twitterverse.

Get Listed in WeFollow

All you need to do is tweet the following, inserting appropriate tags to describe yourself being mindful of the user perspective and being found for more followers:

@wefollow #yourtag #yourtag #yourtag

… looking forward to connecting with you!
