Solopreneur, Online Failure Happens, It’s What You Do With It That Matters!
May 21, 2008 · Online Business
… I just have to share this post, from the Blogtrepreneur about bouncing back from business failure. Business failure is inevitable, if you find a successful entrepreneur that says they’ve never failed at a business venture… they are lying! Period. If you’re hearing from some so-called guru, that failure does not happen… stop listening to them. That’s simply ridiculous! The truth is…
… We’ve all failed, if not in business, at something else. And don’t, for a second, believe the hype when someone tells you how easy it is to make money online. Yes, there is certainly a momentum affect — but the start? It’s very slow and painful. This is where most of you truly fail… you believe the lies, the get-rich-quick-schemes, the b.s. (excuse my french, so to speak), and the information your inundated with on a daily basis.
So, when it doesn’t come on the first, second, or third try… you likely give up, moving on with your tail between your legs. Get a grip. Success is about consistency, longevity, and work. Yep, I said it, work. What makes you think you can just post some blogs, send out an ezine, and pay a gazillion dollars for a mastermind — and voila, you’re raking in the cash?! Get real.
Anything takes work, and a lot of it. The online arena is no exception and can often be a larger challenge because of the nature of technology.
If you fail on your first launch, take a step back, look at the opportunities to learn, and press on. Be proactive, as Bloptrepreneur’s post explains. Read the post, Bouncing Back from a Failed Attempt. Then read the comments. You’ll see — we all fail, and there are ways to make life’s little challenges a little less painful.

Great points Maria!
I read this recently and wanted to share because it is a powerful lesson in line with this post.
“Business is about confronting an endless parade of problems… disappointments… people bearing bad news. If you are not up to that, you may very well need to exit stage left. Resiliency is the numero uno characteristic required: take a hit, re-focus fast, and get on with the fixing or firing or fleeing or forgetting or whatever other productive response that may be possible.”

That’s very true. Obviously get rich quick schemes are all BS, and reputable people should stay away from them, but most people with legitimate business ideas fail. Often this happens when they don’t have a solid business plan. You just can’t let that get you down though:)
