SEO Plugins for Firefox Browser - Diva Online Tools Series
April 22, 2008 · Social Media Marketing
SEO is an important part of any online entrepreneurs journey. If you’re not even considering SEO in your marketing, even at a basic level, you’re crazy. Maybe even certifiable. Yes, you’re not likely to get 1st page Google results on highly competitive rankings. Yes, you’ll get other results from doing just the basic SEO best practices. Like what? Hmmmm… If you’re a service professional, you need to get your name, your company name, your tagline, and your content in Google. Why? Because if I’m looking to compare you with your competitors, chances are I’m Google-ing you both…
Another reason? You can get “long-tail” results over time, by simply making sure you’re using SEO basic practices. How’s that? SEO is really about time and content. Sure, you can speed it up and yes, you can pay thousands to get it professionally done. But, for solopreneurs these are not likely choices. However, you CAN get good, stable results over time, by simply pushing your content out in the right manner.
The FireFox browser has many plugins that can help you achieve these long-term SEO results. Some will help you with understanding SEO and your competitors use of SEO. Others will help you gauge your SEO results. And still, others will help you in your research for SEO.
Seoquake is a Mozilla Firefox extension aimed primarily at helping web masters who deal with search engine optimization and internet promotion of web sites. Seoquake allows to obtain and investigate many important SEO parameters of the internet…
This tool was designed to add more data to Google and Yahoo! to make it easier to evaluate the value and competitive nature of a market. SEO for Firefox pulls in many useful marketing data points to make it easy get a more holistic view of the competitive landscape of a market right from the search results. In addition to pulling in useful marketing data this tool also provides links to the data sources so you can dig deeper into the data.
KGen (Keyword Generator) is an extension that allows you to see what keywords are strong on visited web page. Than, you can retrieve them for social sharing (tag filling) or webmastering/SEO.
Everything else is really cosmetic and provides less accurate data than these three do. But, the Diva is opened minded. If you know of a Firefox plugin that is helpful for the do-it-yourself and/or solopreneur, let us know by commenting with a link. The Diva team will test and evaluate it, then possibly pass it on to our readers with a recommendation

Maria,
Im glad you have put this up for new users of Firefox, and for the rest of Firefox users out there who are trying to make a dollar. Well anyways, in my opinion the SEOBook is by far the best plugin for Firefox, when it comes to SEO. Just simply go to google and type in a phrase and below the link you will have so many more options such as .gov links to your site, alexa, PR, and more.
Well done,
Casey Collins

Thanks for sharing. Google search threw you up on SEO plugins. Will be bookmarking and coming back for more from what I see on this blog. You are also on most of my social networks so will be adding you there too. Keep up the sharing and the good work.

Maria:
Many people obsess with social media and forget that search engines can be an excellent source of quality traffic. I recently wrote a post about sustainable SEO, something small businesses with a web presence certainly must start focusing on. I’ve used the SEO for Firefox but haven’t tried the other two tools you mention. I’ll give them a try. Thanks for pointing them out.
Mario.

Great advice. I use almost every one of the above listed tools on a regular basis and there is no reason why a business owner can’t do SEO an hour a week. An hour a week will get you results, eventually
