Other SEO Plugins for Firefox
April 30, 2008 · Online Business
… so, we’re wrapping this up and we’ll now review the other SEO plugins that every online entrepreneur has to have installed in Firefox browser. Yep, you won’t use every plugin you have, everyday. That’s not the point, the point is, as an online entrepeneur you’ve got to figure out ways to get the right information at your fingertips at the right time… now. If you’re serious about mastering your own domain and becoming an online marketing powerhouse, you simply need to branch out of your ordinary chase-the-tail day and start finding tools that can systemize and simplify your online processes. These “other” seo plugins for Firefox help the Diva team do just that.
IE Tab
No self-respecting online marketer uses Internet Explorer, unless we absolutely have to. IE Tab helps really limit those have-to-use IE times to basically zero. With IE Tab, and the setting of a few preferences, you can view any page in Firefox, through a tab that runs it like Internet Explorer. Why on Earth would you do this? Browser compatibility is critical in this day and age. If you’re making sales and landing pages, or any other presence online, do it right.
SEO Book’s Rank Checker
This super, duper Firefox plugin, released as one of the SEO tools from SEO Book - is… well, super, duper! You can check your keyword ranking in Google, Yahoo, and MSN for any number of sites. You can not only store your keyword lists, but Rank Checker also generates historical rankings data every time you run it… All on the fly.
RankQuest SEO Tools Bar
Again, there are a ton of SEO tool bars to choose from, with each having it’s own value. RankQuest SEO Tools Bar has a ton of useful options and definitely hits the top of the list for the Diva team. There are validation tools to check links and html for errors, content tools to evaluate keyword density and text ratios, and meta tools to find keywords and analyze meta tags. There are also popularity, search engine, and SEM tools, and a ton more. As far as SEO research, you won’t find a more complete plugin. Used with the others, you could hold in your browser - some very valuable SEO data.
Search Status for Firefox
SearchStatus for Firefox is unobtrusive and does not slow down my browsing at all. At the click of a button I can show information such as indexed pages and backlinks on the 3 major search engines, highlight no-followed links on a page, give you link reports and much more. Although some of the options here overlap with other extensions, this one calls up good information on demand.
Profile Switcher
Not really, technically an SEO plugin for Firefox, Profile Switcher is really about what you’re doing when you’re not doing SEO or other online marketing related activities. Say what? Okay, hear me out. Profile Switcher allows you to have many different “profiles” in Firefox. Each profile keeps it’s own preferences, cookies, passwords, and activity memory (so to speak). Think this one through…
If you’re like the Diva Team, any member on my team is constantly switching “hats” in our daily activities. From SEO work to social bookmarking, and more. Example? These are the various profiles I have with Profile Switcher:
- SEO Profile. This is the profile I go to when doing any and all of my client’s SEO work. Whether research to data collection to analysis. All my SEO plugins are active in this profile. What’s the big deal? If you’re using the right SEO tools in Firefox, you know, they can have a heavy load - slowing down the browser. So, when you’re casually browsing or doing other work, rather than turn each plugin off - you simply switch profiles.
- Various Social Bookmarking profiles. Not that I endorse this
but if you have more than one social bookmarking account at each site and you’re very active - Profile Switcher will allow you to create a seperate profile per email… Or, if you actively manage the social media accounts of your clients - like the Diva team does on a daily basis, I’ve got one profile per client. All passwords are saved, all activities and histories are in tact — for that particular client
- Casual Browsing profile. This profile is just me, in downtime. No annoying plugins, no slow-down, no personal and business bookmarks mixed - just the Diva and my simple Firefox profile.
The other great thing? You can also install Profile Switcher into Thunderbird (Outlook’s open-source nemesis). Again, a great tool for those of us who need it
That’s it. Tomorrow we’ll wrap it up and share some really cool plugins to help with productivity across the Net, including at Facebook, YouTube, Twitter and more!

Great info. FF has been a blessing. I love at the different plugins that you can use, ESPECIALLY the ones from Adam Wall. The SEO for FF is awesome. I was unaware that there was one for i.e. though. I will definately have to get that one. I hate using IE!

Maria - The addon for IE is great. Now I don’t have to use that crappy browser anymore. When I was searching through Mozilla’s site this weekend for that, and other addons, I saw that there is a beta version of FF out for testing. I downloaded it and love it. Its appearance is smoother and not as rugged as the current app. check it out.
Great! i was just thinking of something that will keep tracks of various profile, then you talked about profile switcher that seems perfect for what i need. Great! (again)
