Fight Twitter Spam with TweetBlocker

Comments

Since Twitter has hit mainstream it seems everywhere you look in a stream, you spot a spammer. You know, those annoying Twitter users pitching, selling, and tweeting nonsense for visibility and affiliate sales. My personal favorite are the people or bots that retweet and tweet to a user to simply get visibility in front of their stream.

I hate Twitter spammers so much, I used to go through my followers manually (committing 20 minutes a day to keep rummaging through), deleting accounts without pictures or using other tools to spot Twitter users who were suspect. That was until I found TweetBlocker.

TweetBlocker: My New Captain Save a Tweeter!

Tweetblocker is a new service that rates/grades each Twitter user following you (on a scale of F to A) to present who it believes is spammers on your account. And, to my surprise it works very well.

The service also allows you to report spammers, helping the community to self-police spammers.

You can also see your own rank/grade reported by other users and calculated by Tweetblocker.

I’d definitely recommend, if you have over 500 followers on Twitter to clean up your stream and your followers by using TweetBlocker :-)
