Email Marketing Tips: How To Get More Email Subscribers

September 30, 2008 · Print This Article · Comments

Great article from Chris Garrett, that outlines some of the best ways for bloggers to get more email subscribers and the value of email marketing. Email marketing, and the integration of it with your blog and other online presence hubs, is very important — as part of a larger marketing plan.

Chris highlighted a ton of tips to get more email subscribers — these are our picks for effectiveness:

  • Your blog. You need to make it your email subscribe form simple, and easily accessible - preferably at more than one place on the blog (check out our set-up).
  • Forum posting. Seems like so yesterday, but forums are a great way to target specific audiences and use your posting/signature as your advertisement for your blog. You’ll see subscribers and good traffic come in.
  • Networking. Simple as it sounds, it works. And, unfortunately, most don’t invest enough time in networking as a way to build readers or traffic.

Chris has a ton more, many of the easy to implement and actually work. Read his post, Email Marketing Tips: Getting More Email Subscribers

Here’s to your email marketing success!

I never thought about putting my email subscription form on my BLOG, but it sounds like a great idea!

That’s actually a great idea. Marketing your feed rather than your blog. Since people rarely unsubscribe a subscribe to your feed is so much more valuable than a quick visit to your blog.

Email marketing is still one of the most powerful ways to stay in touch with your target audience. The tips you highlighted from Chris’ post are great and if implemented work great.

The thing to remember though is that your email form must be in a prominent position and be heavily pointed to.

After people telling me over and over, I finally added an optin box to my blog at the top of the sidebar. Now while I’m not getting the kind of traffic I’d like to get, I still have the odd signup here and there. :D

Being a member on a number of forums, I make sure I’m linking back to my blog in my signature, and if anyone asks something in which I’ve blogged about…then of course I’ll point them towards the article.

The key at times is to keep posting quality content, and it’s something at times I fail to do. For example, just because I haven’t posted to my blog for the past 10 days, I’ve noticed a steady decrease in traffic. (Now that’s bad!) - So from now on, I am planning to keep it updated!

    Thanks
    Mark

Thanks for stopping by. I agree, sometimes it is hard to stay consistent, but it’s well worth the effort in the long run. The more loyal your readers are, as time goes by, they are much more forgiving :-)

Good luck in your blogging ventures :-)

I think e-mail marketing has turned into simple spamming nowadays.
